BSL Is Here To Stay

Like it or not Breed Specific Legislation is here to stay.   One of the worst frailties of the human race is it's penchant to take the easy way out.  Blame the dog.. he can't talk back.  His irresponsible owners are full of excuses as to why they're not the culprit.  Besides, unlike dogs, they vote and pay taxes.

Addressing the real issues of crime,

poverty, animal abuse, ignorance, greed

and man's lust for violence is far too daunting

a task for most people and so

we blame the dogs for our societal ills."

Effective January 12, 2007 Royal City, Washington banned  Pit Bulls and Rottweilers which by the way also includes 6 Pit Bulls who serve the public every day in the Washington State Police K-9 Unit.   As of December 2006, thirty eight states have enacted BSL on a statewide level or in certain municipalities.  Of these, pit bulls and Rottweilers are the breeds that are most likely to be banned.  The Rottweiler and the Pit Bull are American dogs but because of some really crappy breeder/owners they are in danger of becoming something that you can only find in a history book.  What can we do to stem the tide of ignorance?  I'm not sure but we have to contact our legislators and educate them on the merits of the two breeds.  Apparently we have not learned anything since man put foot on this planet.  They outlawed guns in England -- They don't shoot people anymore they just blow up subways?   We have never been able to legislate morals.  Legislate against the crimes and not the victims!!!
